My Journey to Becoming a Counselor

Before becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor, I spent more than 25 years in executive and senior leadership roles within cancer diagnostics, biotech startups, and academia. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for the complexity of being human—that we can be highly capable while quietly struggling, deeply committed while feeling disconnected, or outwardly successful while inwardly overwhelmed. I continue to see these same patterns in my work with individuals, couples, and families. Anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship difficulties, and chronic stress are expressions of deeper emotional patterns rather than personal shortcomings. They frequently reflect unresolved experiences or coping strategies that once served a purpose but no longer support the life you want. My approach is grounded in understanding and addressing those underlying issues rather than simply managing symptoms. I believe meaningful change occurs within the context of a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, curiosity, and genuine collaboration. My approach is compassionate, evidence-based, and tailored to your unique experiences and goals, integrating insight with practical strategies to help you navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience. Therapy can provide a safe and supportive space to create lasting change so that meaningful relationships, emotional well-being, personal growth, and achievement can coexist
